2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 c. rolled oats
1 t. baking soda
1 1/2 c. melted butter
1 - 14oz bag caramels
5 T. milk, cream or evaporated milk
2 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped walnuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, brown sugar, oats, baking soda, and melted butter.(if you use margarine for butter, use 2 tbsp. less margarine) Press 2/3 of mixture onto bottom of 15 x10 x 1" jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Melt caramels and milk in top of double boiler, stirring constantly. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on hot crust. Spread caramel mixture over top. Sprinkle with remaining oat mixture. Bake 20 minutes longer. Cut into bars while still warm.
