⅔ c. and 4 tbsp shortening

⅓ c. 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp margarine *for milk-free

1 ½ c. plus 2 tbsp granulated sugar

3 tsp Vanilla extract

1 tsp Butter or other flavoring of choice

*In place of eggs add: (Egg substitution)
3 tbsp vegetable oil
5 tsp baking powder
4 tbsp and 1 tsp water, more if needed

½ tsp salt

4 c. sifted AP flour

Combine margarine, shortening, vanilla and flavoring in a large bowl; mix with mixer
*Add egg (substitute) mixture, add sugar and mix with mixer

In a separate bowl: sift flour, add salt-- stir with fork
Add to above wet mixture and mix with a wooden spoon until moist
If too dry, add more water as necessary

NOTE: try not to mix more than necessary as it will make the cookies hard

Divide dough into 4 pieces and shape into balls
Put each ball/piece in plastic wrap and wrap up, flatten out to make small packs
Chill in fridge overnight

Pre-heat oven to 375º

Bake cookies on a parchment lined cookie sheet for 6-8 minutes per batch
