Directions:(Grandma left a mystery. Her recipe didn’t have a title so I’m not sure what type of food it makes. It could be cookies, cake or bread. But it does appear she was trying to list recipes in “chapters”, the recipe appears in a section with cookies. So I’ll include this in the cookies chapter. But it could be baked in other forms.)
Boil water and raisins 5 minutes, let cool. Cream shortening, add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beat until combined. Add vanilla, mix until combined. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Slowly add to creamed mixture, mixing until combined. Fold in raisin mixture and nuts. Let stand a few minutes after together. Bake in 400ºF oven. (There were no directions for baking so I’ve supplemented from other recipes.)
