½ c. warm water
1 tsp. sugar
¼ tsp. ginger
2 pkg dry yeast
½ c. sugar
1½ c. warm orange juice
1 t. grated orange rind
6 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. soft butter

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first four ingredients in a small bowl and let stand until bubbling nicely. In a large bowl, mix sugar, warm orange juice, and 2 cups of the flour. Add the yeast mixture and beat well. Then add all other ingredients except 1 cup of flour and stir until dough clears the bowl. Turn dough out onto pastry board covered with final cup of flour. Knead until smooth and elastic. Brush top with butter, cover, and let rise until double. Knead dough and divide into thirds, forming into loaves. Place loaves in greased pans, brush tops with butter, and let rise until full.

Bake at 350ºF for 40-45 minutes (watch closely for over-browning).
