3 cups Shelf Rising Flour (Gold Medal – Self Rising Flour)
2 cups Buttermilk
2 Heaping T. Shortening (Crisco Shortening)

Items needed:

10” Cast Iron Skillet
Large Mixing bowl
Parchment Paper

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to bake at 350º

Start by melting shortening in Cast Iron Skillet.

In Large Bowl put 3 Cups Self-Rising Flour and Mix in 2 Cups Buttermilk, mix into
a sticky/flaky dough.

On counter top place parchment paper and sprinkle flour on paper and hands.

Place or pour dough onto parchment paper and coat lightly with flour. Then
slightly knead and form into a dough ball. Do not over knead.

Then pinch off biscuit size portions about 2 to 2 ½ inch from ball of dough, form
into a small dough ball.

Then coat all sides of small dough ball in the melted shortening in skillet.

Then place small dough ball in skillet and repeat until the skillet is full of about
12 biscuits.

Bake at 350º F for 25 minutes, until golden brown on top.

Every stove is different so monitor baking time.

Serve hot with butter, honey, jelly or gravy.
