Dark Mixture:
3 C Flour
1 tsp Soda
¼ tsp Salt
½ tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Cloves
1 C Shortening
1 ½ C Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 C Nuts
1 C Raisins (cut up)

Light Mixture:
2 C Flour
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Soda
½ C Shortening
¾ C Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
2 TB Water
¼ C Cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients. Cream shortening and sugar; add vanilla to light mixture. Mix well. Blend in dry ingredients. Add fruit. Pack ½ dark mixture in dinner roll pan; then all of light and other half of dark on top. Refrigerate 24 hrs. Cut lengthwise and slice in 3 slices. Bake in a 375º oven on un-greased cookie sheet for 8 to 10 min
