1 cup of flour
6 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt.

Directions:

Beat the egg yolks, add the salt and vanilla.

Add the flour and knead until smooth. Let stand ina bowl with a top for 1 hour.

Then.. roll out thinly (as thin as you can), cut into rectangles about 3"x5" long.

with a knife cut 2 slits in each end and bring the opposit corner through the slots.

Deep Fry in Crisco Shortening/Lard until golden brown.

Dry on a piece of paper towel and sprinkle with icing sugar.

Store in a tigth containter.

As a child I recall a takbel in my Grandmother's home covered with Krenke Listy, dusted with icing sugar. This is a delightful Italian Pastry
