4 cups sliced apples
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/8 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp butter
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
1 egg - beaten
1/3 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
- Place apples in baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 C sugar, cinnamon, and dot with 2 Tbsp of butter.
- Sift flour, baking powder, 1/3 C sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Cut in 1/4 C butter until the mixture is slightly coarser than corn meal.
- Combine egg and milk. Pour into the dry ingredients. Stir just enough to combine.
- Spoon over the apples in the baking dish.

Bake @425º for about 30 minutes, until browned

Serve with cream or ice cream (optional)
