"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Directions:
Mix the butter and flour with fingers until crumbly. Beat the eggs and add the sugar, vanilla and baking powder. Knead for a few minutes, if it’s too sticky add a little flour (try not to, they are softer if not too dry).
Take a small amount (walnut size), roll it in your hands and twist or make a knot. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes on the bottom rack, and then another 10 minutes on the middle rack. Do not let the get too brown, cookies should be pale and very light brown on the bottom.
When cool frost with confections sugar icing, then add sprinkles if you like. To make this just add a little water and 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the confections sugar. Mix until smooth and spread on the cookies, then add the sprinkles.
