Ingredients:
Ingredients:
WET INGREDIENTS:
2 cups milk
1 cup water, raisin water* + more if needed
1 Tbls salt
3 Tbls butter
1/2 cup honey

DRY INGREDIENTS:
2 pkg yeast
7 cups wheat flour, divided
1 cup nuts, walnuts or pecans
1/2 cup white golden raisins
1 Tbls cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
dash of nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
*In a mason jar, add half a bag of golden raisins with enough water to cover. Let that sit a couple of days in the refrigerator. This will plump the raisins and give you water for the recipe. After using the raisins and raisin water, repeat this process with the remaining raisins, so you will be ready to bake this again in a few days!
1) In a glass bowl, mix all of the Wet Ingredients and heat to 125-130º. Stir.
2) In a large mixing bowl, mix 5 cups wheat flour with the rest of the dry ingredients. Pour in the wet mixture. Slowly add the last 2 cups of flour just until it pulls away from the sides of mixing bowl clean. (You may not need it all). I use a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer with the hook attachment for 4 minutes, but you can knead by hand. Put in greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 1 hour.
3) Punch down and separate into 2 greased loaf pans (you can sprinkle pans with sesame seeds if you want). Let rise for 40-50 minutes. Preheat oven to 350º and bake for 35 min. You can sprinkle sesame seeds on the bottom of bread pan if you like.

Personal Notes:
My Grandmother was a baker and the best chef in our family. My mother was a professional singer and had no love of baking. So, I took over this recipe from my Grandmother. She made this bread every week for as long as I can remember. It is my favorite bread and is delicious toasted and buttered with a little homemade jam.
NOTE: If you like to bake, this bread is the best for a slice in the morning. (ask Billie Maben!)
