Banana Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

1 1/2 c. flour
1c. sugar
1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1/4 t. nutmeg
3/4 t. cinnamon
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. mashed ripe bananas (2-3)
1 3/4 c. rolled quick oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift flour, sugar, soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon into mixing bowl. Cut in shortening. Add egg, bananas, rolled oats and nuts. Beat until blended. Drop by teasponful about 11/2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in a 400 oven about 15 min. or until cookies are done. Remove from cookie sheet immediately. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
