Chocolate Chip Cake Recipe

3/4 lb. butter or margarine,
2 tsp baking powder,
1 1/2 C strong coffee (use 2 T. instant coffee in cold water),
1 C chopped nuts,
1 C chocolate chips,
1 1/4 C powdered sugar,
1 1/4 C sugar,
4 eggs separated,
3 C flour,
1 tsp vanilla.

Cream butter & sugar, add egg yolks alternately with dry ingredients & coffee. Add nuts and chips to last of flour. Beat egg whites until stiff & fold in. Batter will be thicker so chips don't go to bottom. Bake @ 350 for 25" in 3 layers.

Frosting: Beat together 2 sm. pkg. cream cheese, 1 box powdered sugar,and 1 tsp vanilla and spread on cake
