Cookies:
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
3 eggs, well beaten
4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. salt

Filling:
1 c. white sugar
1 c. water
1 lb. chopped dates
Directions:
Directions:
Put filling ingredients on stove and simmer while you mix cookie dough.
Mix well and roll out as any dough. Spread the filling over it. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Roll up as any jelly roll. Let stand in refrigerator overnight. Slice ½" thick and bake at 350º for 15 minutes.
