3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 egg
1/2 cup sesame seeds
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 pkg. toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in egg; add sesame seeds.

Stir together flour, baking powder, and 1/2 tsp. salt. Stir into creamed mixture, shape into 8 x 2 x 2 inch log. Wrap dough in waxed papar and chill till firm, at least 2 hours.

Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350 degreess for 12 to 15 minutes

(If desired, before baking press toasted sesame seeds into tops of cookies.
