2 sticks of butter
3 large eggs , well beaten
1 1/2 cups sugar
16 oz chopped dates
6 cups crispy rice cereal
3/4 cup chopped nuts
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup shredded coconut

Directions:
Directions:
In large saucepan melt butter, add sugar and dates. Bring to a low boil, add a little of the hot mixture to the egg mixture, then mix eggs into date mixture. Cook at a low boil for 6 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat add vanilla cereal and nuts.

While still hot form into balls and roll coconut.

Rosie Tip- put half of the coconut in 9x13 pan, press mixture on top, put remaining coconut on top then ball up.

It's easy to forgot the vanilla at the end.
