½cup shortening
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1¾ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
½ cup sugar for rolling
48 Hershey's Chocolate Kisses

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and peanut butter.

2. Gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy.

3. Add milk, egg and vanilla. Beat well.

4.Combine flour, soda, and salt. Add to cream mixture.

5. Roll into 1-inch balls, then roll in extra sugar. Place balls 1 inch apart of lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375º for 8 minutes.

Remove from oven and immediately press chocolate kisses into center of cookie.

These cookies are a classic. They are good anytime of the year, but have been a perennial favorite of our Christmas Cookies for many years. We always double this recipe they are that good!
