1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk – save white
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Coating
Finely chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix first 7 ingredients together (not pecans).

Roll into 1 inch balls.

Dip in egg whites then roll in pecans.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 5 minutes at 375°

Remove from oven and press tip of spoon (or your thumb) in top of each cookie

Return to oven for 8 minutes.

Cool and fill middle with tinted powdered sugar frosting
