Caramel Sauce |
|
Ingredients: |
Ingredients: 5 ounces evaporated milk 11 ounces caramel bits, or wrapped caramels
|
|
Directions: |
Directions:In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and caramels. Stir until caramels are melted and sauce is smooth. (About 8 minutes)
Carefully remove cookie bars from oven and place on heat-safe surface. Pour caramel sauce over cookie bars, making sure to get sauce into every nook and cranny.
Carefully start placing flattened dollops of cookie dough on top of caramel sauce. (I find it works best to pick up a small handful of dough, flatten it in your hand a bit, and place directly on caramel sauce. Repeat with remaining dough.
Bake for an additional 15-18 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly and the cookie is golden brown.
Allow bars to cool to room temperature before cutting. Serve with ice cream, if desired. |
