1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk – not evaporated
1 ½ cups cold water
1 (4 serv.) package instant vanilla pudding (sometimes I use french vanilla)
2 cups (1 pint) cool whip
About ½ a full size box of vanilla wafers
3 sliced medium bananas (dipped lightly in lemon juice to keep them from browning)

In a large bowl, combine milk and water. Add pudding mix and beat well. Chill for 5 minutes. Fold in cream. Layer into 2 ½ quart serving bowl - pudding, wafers, bananas - end with pudding (and put wafers all around the sides of the top layer).

Don't use too much lemon juice or you will taste it in the pudding. If I make this right before I am taking it somewhere to be eaten right away, I skip the lemon juice. If it will be eaten right away, the bananas won't get time to turn brown.
