"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
¼ c corn starch
1½ c flour
½ c confectioner sugar
½ tsp vanilla
toppings (sprinkles, candies, nuts)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Add the butter to a bowl and using a handheld mixer, whip until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the flour, confectioners sugar and vanilla. Blend together until fully incorporated, about 2 minutes. Portion about 1 teaspoon of dough, roll into small balls and place on cookie sheets about 2" apart. Next, dip a fork into the confectioners sugar to keep the dough from sticking to the fork, and push the fork down onto the ball to flatten the ball to ½" or so. Top the dough with sprinkles. Bake for about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow trays to cool on rack for 2 minutes before removing cookies to the cooling rack.
