Ingredients: CHERRY FILLING 2 lb powdered sugar 2 boxes cherry frosting mix 16 oz maraschino cherries 1 stick melted oleo (butter) 2 tbsp vanilla 1 can sweetened condensed milk
OUTER COATING 2 lbs shelled peanuts (about 4 1/2 cups, unsalted with skins removed) 12 oz semi sweet chocolate chips 1 large milk, chocolate bar

Directions:CHERRY FILLING Drain cherries well and dry. Mix remaining ingredients well and add cherries. Chill for at least one hour. Shape into small balls and chill a half hour longer.
OUTER COATING Melt the chocolate chips and the milk chocolate bar over low heat. Chop the peanuts into small pieces and add to chocolate. Mix well.
Dip the cherry balls into the chocolate mixture and placed on wax paper to dry, then refrigerate or keep in a cool, dry place. Can be frozen.

Notes: Everytime I went to Kansas for Christmas, the cherry mash’s were always there. I believe Auntie Vesta, and Auntie Irma made them. I always wanted to make them, but I kept losing the recipe so now it’s in the book.
