5-7 tart apples, peeled and sliced
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 can apple pie filling
1 recipe of 9-inch plain pastry crust
1 tbsp. melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg; add to apples and apple pie filling. Mix well and place in 9-inch pastry pan. Adjust the top crust over the top of the apples. Cover with butter.

Bake in the oven for 10 min. Lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for another 40 min.

Note: if you do not use tart apples, add 1 tbsp. lemon juice and zest of 1 lemon.
