1 c sugar
1 ½ tsp vanilla
2 eggs
4 c flour
4 tsp salt
½ c milk

Directions:
Cream together shortening & sugar; add eggs & vanilla. Beat for about 2 minutes, until very creamy. Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl & sift into creamed mixture. Add milk & stir. (Dough may be a little sticky. If so, add ¼ to ⅓ c more flour.) Chill for about 1 hour. Then roll out on floured surface to ¼” thickness. Cover with thin layer of sugar. (I roll sugar in just a little, so it won’t fall off dough.) Cut into cookies. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Ice & decorate as desired or eat plain.
