2 C. white sugar
½ C. light brown sugar, packed
2 T. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2¼ tsp. cinnamon
1¼ tsp. ground clove
1 C. unsalted butter, softened
2 eggs
½ C. dark molasses
4 C. flour
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º.
Mix sugars, baking soda, salt and spices in large mixing bowl.
Beat in butter.
Place eggs, vanilla and molasses in separate bowl and beat lightly until mixed.
Add to sugar/butter mixture and mix well.
Add flour last and mix well.
Form into balls and put on ungreased cookie sheet.
Butter the bottom of a flat-bottomed glass and dip in sugar. Press on cookie to flatten.
Sprinkle on a little more sugar is necessary.
Bake 10-12 minutes. Do not over bake!
