5 tablespoons of flour or 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup Crisco or butter
1 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cook flour and milk to a thick paste, about 4 minutes.
2. Mix in the vanilla and cool.
3. In a separate bowl, beat sugar and Crisco at medium speed until creamy, about 3 minutes. The longer, the better.
4. Add the cooled paste to this and beat for about 5 minutes.
5. You may vary the flavoring, or add some cocoa to the frosting while beating.
6. Frost cake when cooled.
