Ingredients: INGREDIENTS FOR COOKIES: 2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon soda ½ teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon salt
ADDITIONAL: 2/3 cup butter and 1 cup sugar, creaming well
MORE: 1 egg 2 Tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon vanilla
INGREDIENTS FOR FROSTING AND DECORATIONS: Powdered Sugar Butter Raisins Coconut

Directions:Bake 400 degrees for 8 min
Sift together ( or mix well): 2 cups flour ½ teaspoon soda ½ teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon salt
Blend together: 2/3 cup butter and 1 cup sugar, creaming well
Add 1 egg, 2 Tablespoons milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla … Beat well
Blend in Dry ingredients gradually
Mix thoroughly, Dough needs to be chilled before making Santas
Roll out to ¼ inch thickness. Cover the dough with a light sprinkling of flour Be sure to also coat the cookie cutter with flour before you cut each Santa.
DECORATING THE COOKIES: Cut raisins in half for the eyes. Push into place before baking. Frost with butter frosting. Use coconut for the beard |

This recipe come from my sister, Julie. It’s her favorite sugar cookie recipe. We use it for Santa's cookies because we like the taste. Some people use Aunt Bee’s sugar cookie recipe because it holds the shape of the Santa better. (Her recipe is online or included with the cookie cutter.)
