  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 diced onion

  • 1 diced green bell pepper

  • 2-3 cans Hunts tomato sauce (or 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes)

  • Grated cheese to taste

  • Maybe a half box or more Elbow macaroni


Directions:
Directions:
Sauté ground beef, peppers, and onions in same pan until beef is cooked. Add tomato sauce and simmer for 30 minutes, covered. Add grated cheese and salt & pepper.

Boil Elbows while sauce is cooking, then mix elbows with sauce.

This was one comfort and budget friendly food that Gram often made, sometimes called American "chop suey"…one in the same. It’s delicious… and super easy to make.
