1 1/2 cups butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg, separated
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Raspberry Jam
chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter, sugar, add egg yolk and vanilla.

Add flour and salt and mix until well combined.

Roll dough into balls.

Optional: Dip ball into egg whites and roll into chopped nuts.

Place on greased sheet and press thumb in the middle. Fill hole with jam.

Bake 10-15 minutes.
