Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 chuck roast
Potatoes
Carrots
salt and pepper

Onions

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Put roast, potatoes and carrots in large pot. (Mother didn't use onions, but I recommend for more flavor). Add 2 c. water & put in oven. Answer phone & stretch cord to go inside utility room to talk (it's probably Marilyn on the phone). Come back in when water boils away & you smell something burning. Look in oven. Find roast & veggies dry, carmelized, & starting to burn. Serve to family & listen to kids say: "This is really good. Can you fix Burnt Roast more often?" (It had a lot more flavor than her roast normally had). Grammy is not amused at all, but we are serious. It was a favorite.
****Cook time: longer than normal, lol
