Ingredients:
1 box saltine crackers
2 large jars of sweetened applesauce
2 containers of whipped cream

There is no rhyme or reason to this recipe. It is layered like lasagna. Start with spreading applesauce on bottom of 9" x 12" cake pan. Crush a package of crackers in the sleeve and pour crushed crackers in a layer on top of the applesauce. Add another layer of applesauce. Add a layer of whipped topping. And start over....crackers, applesauce, whipped topping, crackers, applesauce, whipped topping-you get the idea. Go as high as you like but I recommend not going over the side of the pan. You could use a different sized pan with higher sides if you like more layers. Refrigerate overnight and voila-stick a spoon in it and serve away.

*The first time we made this at Thanksgiving when Tim was watching the preparations-he was certain we had lost our minds. I tried to explain to him that the flavors meld together. This was pre-google days and he thought I made up the word, meld. It was quite the debate for years and whenever we heard someone else use it in a sentence-we would smile at one another.
