Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups butter, room temperature
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 orange, zested
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg white

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 c cocoa powder
1 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup dark or semisweet chocolate bar chopped
3/4 cup pecans, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl cream together the butter, sugars and orange zest until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla and egg white and beat well to combine.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa, kosher salt and baking soda. Stir in
the chocolate and pecans.
Add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture and stir until combined.
Divide the cookie dough into four equal parts. Roll each into a 6” log and wrap in plastic
wrap. Place dough in the freezer for at least 4 hours or for up to 2 months.
When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with
parchment paper. Slice cookies 1/2” thick and place on baking sheet leaving 1” between
each.
Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the tops of the cookies are no longer
shiny. Remove from oven and wait 2 minutes before transferring cookies to a wire rack
to cool completely.
