1/2 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Chopped Nuts - Walnuts or Pecans
2 Eggs
3/4 Cup Mashed Ripened Bananas
1-1/4 Cup Flour
3/4 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening, sugar, and nuts. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in mashed bananas. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to banana mixture - stir till well blended. Pour into loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes or till done. Baking time depends oven temperatures.

Grandma Frerking used to make this bread and it is delicious! Grandma would use black walnuts. I personally use pecans.
