Glazed Sugar Cookies Recipe

3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup oil
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Glaze:
2+ tablespoons milk
1 bag of powdered sugar
food coloring

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375º. Place parchment paper on cookie sheets.

2. Sift flour, soda, and salt together; set aside.

3. Cream margarine, oil, sugar, and vanilla. Add egg. Add dry ingredients one cup at a time.

4. On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4-1/2 inch thickness depending on your preference. Use a floured cookie cutter. Transfer to parchment lined cookie sheet.

5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. After baking, allow cookies to sit on cookie sheet for 2-5 minutes prior to transferring to cooling rack.

6. Make the glaze. Sift the powdered sugar. Add the milk in small increments (1 tablespoon at a time) whisking after each addition. The glaze should be similar to a glue texture. Then add food coloring until you reach desired color.

7. After the cookies cool, dip each cookie in the glaze. Place cookie on wax paper and allow to dry completely.
