5 C flour
½ tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 C shortening
2 C sugar
3 eggs
1 C sour milk

Mix together the dry ingredients, add in the wet ingredients one by one until dough is incorporated into a large ball. Let dough set in the refrigerator covered in plastic wrap for 2 days.

Roll into ball and place on a cookie sheet, press down with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes. Let cool and frost.
