1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups rolled oats
1 1/4 cups salted Spanish peanuts

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together shortening, butter, and sugars.
Add vanilla and eggs and beat well, about 3 minutes at medium speed.
Sift together the flour and soda.
Add to mixture and mix well.
Thoroughly mix in the rolled oats and peanuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
Bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
