2 cups brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
5 to 5 1/2 cups of flour
1 cup lard
3 beaten eggs
1 cup sour cream
2/3 cup buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, lard, and eggs.
Beat until light and smooth.
Add sour cream.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to mixture.
Add flour to make a soft dough.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes

Note: You may add chocolate chips or shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or chopped candied fruit.
