1 lb breakfast sausage
¼ cup of oil
⅓ cup of flour
2 ¼ cup of milk
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cook breakfast sausage till done. Retain the grease if any.

2. Add oil, flour, salt and pepper to pan. Place over medium heat to brown. Stir, stir, stir dont want it to burn.

3. When it is light tan in color remove from heat and add milk. Stir well.

4. Put on high heat, stirring constantly. When it starts to bubble turn heat down to medium. Continue to stir.

5. It will start to thicken, cook to desired consistency. It will continue to thicken some after it is off the heat.

6. Place over some biscuits (homemade or bisquick is fine)

This is Sophie's great grandmother's recipe for breakfast gravy that we grew up enjoying served over biscuits. If you're not a fan of sausage gravy, you can leave out the sausage and follow the rest of the recipe as listed for the same deliciousness.
