Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 eggs 2 tablespoons cocoa powder 1/3 cup water 2 ounces red food coloring 1 cup buttermilk 1 teapoon vanilla extract 1 teapoon white vinegar 1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:Pre heat over to 350 degrees. Line 12 cupcake pan with paper liners.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffly. Add eggs and blend well. Mix cocoa and food coloring and add to the butter mixture. Sift flour and salt together into mixture. Slowly add one at a time; buttermilk, vanilla, and water. In a small bowl, combine the vinegar and the baking soda. Fold it into the cake batter. Fold in but do not beat into mixture. Pour the batter into the cupcake pan. Bake 20 minutes, until the cake is tested with toothpick.
Frost cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and serve. May garnish with Edible flowers for party! |
