Ingredients:
Ingredients:
½ C butter, softened
½ C sugar
½ C light brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1½ C flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp sea salt
1 C chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Line a 9 x 9" square baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease. Set aside.
In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a standing mixer bowl, cream together butter, light brown sugar, and sugar until well combined. Add egg and vanilla until well combined. Add dry ingredients and beat until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Add chocolate chips and mix until evenly distributed.
Press the cookie dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan (I use a lightly greased sandwich baggie to glove my hand). Top with extra chocolate chips (if desired). Bake for 18-25 minutes, or until edges are set and the top is just barely browned. Place baking pan on a wire cooling rack and let the bars cool for at least 30 minutes (longer preferred as the hold up better as they cool). Use the parchment paper to lift the cookie bars out of the pan, then cut into squares.

Personal Notes:
To double, simply double the recipe exactly and bake in a 13 x 9" pan for 20-25 minutes or until edges are set and top is barely browned.
