"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway
This recipe for Grandma Sayer’s Homemade Noodles, by Bonnie and Amy, is from The Bolme Family Cookbook 2006,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
Beat eggs, salt and milk together. Add enough flour to make stiff dough. Roll thin on floured surface. Let stand 20 minutes to 1 hour. Roll up & slice thin. Spread to dry for 2 hours. Boil for 10 minutes in chicken broth.
Start noodles 3 hours before planning to serve. Serve with chicken.
This one is probably my favorite food from Amy’s family.
