1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
⅔ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1½ tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
2 cups flour
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups chocolate chips
2 cups sunflower seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter with sugar. Add eggs. Beat in vanilla, salt and baking soda. Blend in flour and oats to make a stiff dough. Stir in chocolate chips. Roll rounded tablespoons of dough in sunflower seeds. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake @ 375º for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool for at least 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.

These cookies became a family favorite. Often when we talk about them, people who haven't tried them are doubtful about a sunflower seed cookie, but I have yet to find anyone who hasn't been sold once they've tried them!
