4 c. flour
1 lb. dark brown sugar
Mix together into crumbs and reserve 1 1\2 c.
1 c. butter
2 c. water, boiling
1 c. molasses (or 1\2 c. baking molasses and 1\2 c. Karo syrup)
2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together flour, butter and brown sugar into crumbs. Reserve 1 1/2 c. Combine water, molasses and baking soda. Stir into flour, sugar and butter mixture.
Pour into rectanglular cake pan. Top with reserved crumbs.

Bake at 400º for 40-50 minutes.
