4 lbs. hamburger meat, ground
2 lbs. sausage, ground
1 cup celery, chopped
¾ cup onion, chopped
1 tbsp. + 1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. chopped garlic
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 cup water
4 cups potatoes, mashed
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
6 pie crusts (I use Pillsbury pie crusts)

Makes 3 large meat pies!

Cook hamburger, sausage, onions, poultry seasoning, celery, garlic, allspice, salt and pepper and water together in large skillet over medium high heat. Drain meat and save the broth. Set aside.

Peel and cook potatoes (boil in large pot on medium high heat or microwave) and mash them with milk and butter to desired consistency.

Mix mashed potatoes with the meat mixture in large bowl until thoroughly combined. Set aside.

Place one pie crust in the bottom of each pie plate (per directions on the box), pressing firmly down the bottom and sides of the dish. Portion meat mix evenly between the 3 pie plates. Add ½ cup of broth to each pie before topping each with the top pie crust.

Bake at 350ºF degrees until golden brown.
