3/4 c butter, softened
3/4 c white sugar, or to taste
2 eggs
4 tsp vanilla extract
4 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 c chopped peans (optional)
2 Tbsp confectioners sugar, or as needed

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 D

Step 2: Beat shortening, butter, and white sugar together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Sift flour and salt into creamed butter mixture and stir just until dough is combined; fold in pecans. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and arrange on a baking sheet.

Step 3: Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, about 20 m. Cool cookies slightly and roll in confectioners sugar. Cool cookies completely and roll again in confectioners sugar
