Yeast Mixture
2 TBSP yeast
1 cup water
2 tsp sugar

Then mix
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp nutmeg
1 1/2 Tbsp salt
1 egg
4 cups warm water
1 lb raisin
flour

Directions:
Directions:
dissolve yeast in warm water with 2 tsp sugar. Let rise 10 minutes.
Mix remaining ingredients and then add the yeast mixture.
Mix in enough flour in until it makes a soft dough. Then knead in more flour until it is not sticky on your fingers.
Form into to a ball and place in a greased bowl. Put in a warm place and let rise until doubled.
Form into rolls or bread in a loaf pan and let rise again.
Bake at 350º until browned and sounds hollow when tapped.
Makes four loaves.
