Cookie Batter:

1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 beaten egg
1 tsp vanilla
2- 1 ounce squares baking chocolate
1 2/3 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1/2 cup chopped Andes Mints (optional)

Frosting:

6 Tbsp baking cocoa
6 Tbsp hot coffee/Pero/Postum
6 Tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, vanilla, and melted chocolate squares.
2. Add dry ingredients, alternating with milk.
3. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until when touched lightly with finger, springs
back.
5. Make frosting while cookies are cooling slightly.
6. Frost cookies while slightly warm, but not hot.
