1 1/3 cup unsalted butter
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups flaked coconut
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup chopped maraschino cherries

Directions:

1. Cream together butter, eggs, sugar.
2. Add dry ingredients.
3. Add in coconut and chopped cherries.
4. Dough should be quite stiff. Drop spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
5. Bake in 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Do not over-bake.
