½ cup of shortening
2½ heaping Tbsp Quick chocolate milk mix
¾ cup flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup coarsely cut walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening over heat. Cool. Sift flour with baking powder, salt and Quick in a bowl. Beat eggs until light, add sugar, then shortening and blend. Add flour mixture, vanilla, and nuts. Pour batter into wax paper lined 8 inch square pan. Bake 350º for 30-35 minutes.
