1 package of strawberry jello (3 oz.)
4 T of cornstarch
1½ cup of sugar
½ cup of cold water
red food coloring (optional)
1½ cup of hot water

Fresh strawberries
Prepared pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients, adding hot water last

Heat to rolling boil over medium heat

Remove from heat to cool then refrigerate until it starts to thicken

Add 4 cups of strawberries (halved)

Pour mixture into a baked pie crust and serve with whipped cream

This is a family favorite. Unfortunately, the strawberries here in Florida do not ripen as sweetly as the berries we used to get in the midwest, but it is still good.
