1/2 cup butter or shortening
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and stir in vanilla. Mix together dry ingredients; add with nuts to brown sugar mixture; mix thoroughly. Spread in greased cookie pan 15 ½ x 10 ½ x 1. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE. Should be moist and chewy. Cut in bars while warm. Frost bars with powdered sugar frosting or a prepared frosting and remove when almost cool. Makes 3 dozen.
